DESCRIPTION

At 17 years of age, Kobe Bryant was one of the first players ever drafted directly from high school into the NBA and well on his way to becoming one of the most famous basketball players of all time. His incredible talent and pure determination had a profound and lasting impact on the world of basketball, in the U.S. and beyond. But Kobe did not start as a basketball prodigy in the U.S. He spent his childhood in Italy, where soccer reigns and few of his peers played basketball; none of them with his skill and intensity. This story takes Kobe from shooting hoops in a church playground in Rieti to playing for the LA Lakers in the NBA.

A very short, detailed, well written story about how a legend grew up. Spanish is simple enough for non fluent speakers to remember.

So far, I am really enjoying this book. I think that it gives an easy-to-understand yet detailed explanation of Kobe’s early life living overseas. It is interesting to see the challenges that he faces during his youth. The part where he faces challenges speaking Italian is interesting because for everyone, it is there language but it isn't for him.

So far it seems like a good book to learn Spanish. It has a lot of repetition which in my opinion makes learning Spanish a lot easier. It also doesn’t have confusing words and if it does it has a glossary which is also helpful.

I like this book, it is very interesting and I love how there is a part where it can read along with you. I liked this book because it highlights the childhood of Kobe and I think this is important to remember him because he was important and it was sad he died so this is a nice memorial to him.

I think this is a nice informational book about Kobe's life. The illustrations included are nice to go along with the words. I like that there is a choice to listen to someone reading the chapters out loud to you like an audio book.

My opinion is that it is a great book. I would give it five starts, but I feel like some more extra details could have been added to make the story more detailed. But overall, this story was nice. I also gave it a rating of 4 stars because I enjoy basketball myself and I love Kobe Bryant. I was very sad when he unfortunately passed away. He was my favorite player and this book was very fun to read and it was enjoyable! This is why I gave it 4 stars!
